TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF GOLD COAST KIDS ACADEMY


Welcome to Mark Wilson’s Gold Coast Kids Academy! We are so pleased to have you and your family as a part of the Gold Coast Kids Academy family.
To ensure that Gold Coast Kids Academy is able to provide the best teaching environment that is safe and comfortable for all families and staff please assist us by ensuring that you adhere to the following information. Please ensure that you fully understand and agree with the information that is provided, if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us.

1. ENROLMENT
Please ensure that you have enrolled by going to gckidsacademy.com.au and click on booking to fill in enrolment details. Please note that your spot will only be guaranteed once your booking form is received. There are limited spaces per class so please return promptly.
By enrolling your child into Gold Coast Kids Academy, you are agreeing to all Terms and Conditions listed, as well as a commitment to regular attendance to classes.

2. DIRECT DEBIT
All direct debits can only be ceased for the following term. Your direct debit will be automatically held during school holidays. Your direct debit will occur fortnightly. You can pause your direct debit up to 4 weeks per year for sickness or holidays. This must be done by emailing leiha@markwilsondance.com
Our direct debit system is processed through EZIDEBIT. Please refer to https://www.ezidebit.com/-/media/ezidebit/files/ezidebit-combined-pds-and-fsg.pdf for full Financial Services Guide.
All new students will receive a link to the EZIDEBIT form, which will be sent to you to complete. Direct Debit is the easiest option for us and parents however if this is not an option for you please contact us direct to work out an alternative payment arrangement.
Please note that Ezi Debit charges a dishonour fee amount of $20 when your payment fails.

3. FEES AND PAYMENTS
Fees at Gold Coast Kids Academy are competitive whilst still maintaining the highest standards of teaching which we are renowned for. Payments will be deducted on a fortnightly basis, and direct debits will only be deducted from the authorised account that is listed on the Ezidebit form.


4. PUBLIC HOLIDAYS
Please note classes will not run on major public holidays that are outside of School Holidays.

5. DISCONTINUATION
If at any stage you/your child wishes to cease enrolment, you will be required to submit a cancellation mote in writing prior to a new term commencing. The cancellation of a class can only take place at the beginning of a new term. Without written notice payments for a full term of fees will be charged. If classes are booked and the new term has commenced and you have not given notice, a full term of fees will be due and payable.
Please keep this in mind when enrolling your child. Once they are enrolled in a particular class they will be enrolled for a minimum of a full term.

6. YOUR PRIVACY
Our relationship with you is based on trust. Information is collected for two reasons: to provide you with the best possible service and to communicate with you regularly. Your information will not be shared with a third party without your consent. Information will be held securely and in accordance with regulatory requirements.

7. TALENT RELEASE (PHOTOGRAPHIC/VIDEO/AUDIO)
Included as a part of this agreement is a talent release, authorizing Gold Coast Kids Academy to take and use any photographs, video footage or audio recordings of you/or your child whilst participating in Gold Coast Kids Academy activities. This authorisation includes, but is not limited to the following uses of you/ your child’s photographs/ film and sound recordings.
  1. Inclusion in studio brochure.
  2. Inclusion in studio photograph displays.
  3. Inclusion in concerts, performances and productions.
  4. Inclusion on dance school Facebook and Instagram pages.
  5. Inclusion in promotional activities/ campaigns for Gold Coast Kids Academy.
All recording will be taken, used and distributed in line with our child protection strategy. If you have any concerns or wish for child to be excluded please contact Amber on 0452 008 372

8. DISCLAIMER: SAFETY IS EVERYONES RESPONSIBILITY.
Gold Coast Kids Academy takes all reasonable care in the conduct of its classes; it accepts no responsibility for injury or loss caused during classes or whilst participants are at or near the dance studio. You are responsible for ensuring that you are physically and medically fit for the class and during the class you must take care of your own personal safety at all times.

9. FEEDBACK
We welcome feedback and encourage positive discussion at any time. Complaints and feedback may be submitted to Leiha via email at leiha@markwilsondance.com

10. DROP OFF/PICK-UP SYSTEM
For your children’s safety, students are strictly prohibited from waiting in the car park day or night. All parents are to drop off and pick up children to the teacher. If there is a grandparent or friend that is collecting your child you must let us know
Please ensure that your children are wearing shoes when they exit and enter the premises, as we are located within the Golf Club. No student is permitted to leave the premises without a guardian. Your co-operation in this matter is greatly appreciated. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact Amber via phone or email.
For those children that will be collected from St Vincents Primary School and St Kevin’s Catholic School, a consent form will be issued in January for parents to fill in and all new children and parents can attend OPEN DAY to meet teachers so they know who will be collecting them.
You must ensure that your child signs in upon entry to the hall and then a parent or guardian signs them out when exiting.

STUDENT INFORMATION
LOST PROPERTY:
Gold Coast Kids Academy accepts no responsibility for loss, damage or theft of any property brought onto the premises. Please refrain from bringing valuables, toys & electronic devices.

WARMING-UP:
Please be on time for your class as it is important to warm up properly to avoid injury. No student will be allowed into any class 20 minutes after the class has commenced.

CLASS PROTOCOL:
All mobile phones are to be switched off prior to commencement of classes. Photography or filming all or any part of a class with a camera, mobile phone or video camera is prohibited, unless instructed by GC Kids Academy staff. It is our preference that during our class’s parents, guardians and/or family members please do not watch classes as it can be a distraction to students and we don’t have the room. We do make exceptions for our Kinder Ballet parents, new students in their first few classes, private lessons and smaller group classes.

TEACHERS:
Occasionally, teachers are unavailable at short notice. Every endeavour is made to find a suitable substitute teacher.

PERFORMACE/CONCERTS/COMPETITIONS:
We have several opportunities for children to perform throughout the year. All performances/Competitions are optional for children to perform. We will communicate with families throughout the year with great detail about upcoming opportunities for their children.

CODE OF CONDUCT & DRESS CODE:
Gold Coast Kids Academy aims to provide a variety of opportunities for young people to learn to dance and perform, building a strong foundation in dance that is fun and nurturing. A standard of behaviour, grooming and regular attendance is expected from all students. Hair must always be tied back and off the face.
  • For children just starting Ballet shoes/slippers are the best shoes to buy.
  • Ballet tights/stockings or thin socks are ideal for preventing blisters
  • Our preference is leotard with skirt
  • For those children coming from St Vincent’s there is a Mum of one our students who will help all children in change room get changed. Please label all school uniforms so we can ensure none get lost.

A class leotard and skirt is available for purchase from our studio. Dance shoes are also Ava for purchase.


Students are at all times are expected to show respect, regard for others’ property, feelings and belongings. Unruly, disruptive behaviour, gossip and unkind interaction with other students, parents or teachers will not be tolerated. It is most important for us that your children feel very comfortable and happy in a nourishing and friendly environment.
By enrolling your child into Gold Coast Kids Academy, you are acknowledging that you have read and wholly understand the conditions and agree to abide by the rules of membership. You also acknowledge that you (over the age of 18years) and your children are medically sound to partake in normal exercise and you are aware that performing arts training can be physically demanding and participation in some activities may present a risk to your health.
I/We Consent for our Child/Children to participate in Gold Coast Kids Academy classes and agree to pay all applicable fees as per our Terms & Conditions. In the event of an accident, I give authorisation for staff to obtain medical assistance if necessary until I/We can be contacted and subsequently accept medical expenses incurred. I/We acknowledge that we have read and understood all terms and conditions.
